Hall guests are welcome to enjoy the views and the sunshine at one of our three pools, or to choose any of the leisurely activities we offer, including badminton, birdwatching, bocce balls, horseshoes, volleyball, water basketball, history and garden tours, or walking with the hounds of Keswick Hunt Club. On or from the estate, guests may also go fishing, ascend up into the air for a memorable hot air balloon ride, try their hand at archery or croquet, or enjoy our trail system on foot or on bicycles.
Keswick Hall & Estate offers an extensive trail system for all our guests to enjoy. Designed as a complement to the property's Audubon Sanctuary certification program, the trails wind through some of the most beautiful and private settings on the 600-acre Estate.
While the three designated nature trails let guests enjoy the solitude of the estate's wooded areas, the jogging trails can be used for walking, running or biking. Guests can pick up a detailed map at the front desk before starting out on an extraordinary nature adventure during their stay. One of the mapped trails is a perfect 5K that loops through the golf course and boasts gorgeous views of the mountains and the estate.
Guests may also request complimentary bicycles at the Front Desk. Advance reservations are not required. Bikes can generally be delivered for pick-up within 15 minutes of your request.
Try your hand at a sport that almost anyone can do, and be both amused and challenged while you're at it. Three regulation targets are located by our helipad. Please check with the Front Desk for the weekly complimentary archery clinics or ask about private instruction by our activities staff.
The Keswick pitch overlooks gorgeous Virginia countryside including the Southwest Mountains, and can be as relaxing or competitive as you make it. This activity is complimentary to all guests and can be enjoyed at your leisure. Please do check the weekly activities calendar for planned croquet activities.
As one of the fastest growing leisure sports in the country, fly-fishing outings have become an immensely popular leisure choice for our guests. Fly-fishing enthusiasts can choose from a number of full or ½ day on-site instructional classes at the estate's well stocked Broadmoor Lake or opt for an off-site adventure with experienced Orvis-endorsed guides in selected areas of the beautiful James and Moormans Rivers in Albemarle County.
The largest concern of the day will be where to cast your line.
